Workshop 201 — Intermediate Workshop
Private Group
This is a private group. To join you must be a registered site member and request group membership.
Description
This is the group for intermediate critique OR for members with more than basic experience but who do not want more involved feedback
Poets may post no more than two poems per week and must post thoughtful critiques to others twice for (and prior to) every one poem posted. Critiques may be offered at any level the author is a member of.
Membership requirements:
1. Love to write and read poetry.
2. Join Workshop 101 and Workshop 201 groups.
3. Review the information and suggested reading listed on the How to Workshop (a Primer) page under the Workshop tab.
4. Have past (positive) experience workshopping poetry either online or in real life with a group that included at least 8 sections/meetings and that had regular membership. This could include online or brick-and-mortar-classes (that use a respectful and constructive framework such as we are using). This does not include the informal sharing that can happen on blogs (including the wonderful back and forth we do with our poems in response to the Get Your Poem On post) or with writing-practice groups.
5. Participate.
6. We need you to have formal workshop experience before you sign up for Workshop 201. If you don’t have this level of experience, please join Workshop 101. You can move to the next group level if you so desire once you have been active in that group for several months, have given thoughtful and constructive critiques, and meet the requirements for Workshop 201.
Please read through the Workshop Group Requirements under the Workshop tab for lots of other good information about how this group will function. There’s also a handy flowchart to help you find the right group if you’re not quite sure which one is best for you.
Also read Workshop Group General Guidelines. (That tells you how to set up your workshop topic and other good stuff. Really. Please read it.)
