The idea for today's revision activity combines tips from Therese and Donna.
Read one of your poems out loud to someone (yes, really). Ask that person to recall one line or phrase. Use that line as the opening of a new piece.
If you're afraid to read to someone or no one is available to you when you're ready to write, feel free to select the line on your own. If you'd like it to be random, close your eyes and point. Use the line your finger touches to start your new poem.
What to do after you've written ...
1. Post a blog entry with the poem the line originally appeared in, the new poem and anything you'd like to say about your process.
2. Leave the link* in this forum anytime this week, November 23-29.
3. Visit the work of your fellow Revisionaries!
*if you don't have a blog, feel free to post text directly into the forum.
NOTE: So far, the activities for Revisionaries have resulted in brand new pieces resembling their sources not at all. We'll also be doing activities that are less revolutionary. Never fear!
