we've been busy: read write poem members' work in the world

Marian Veverka has two poems in the latest issue of Pirene’s Fountain.

Jennifer Jean’s poem “My Shoal” has been published in the latest issue of The Mom Egg. This issue also includes January G. O’Neil’s “What Mommy Wants” and Rethabile Masilo’s “The Grotto of Chehrabad.” Download the issue and read them all, including other friends’ work you might recognize.

Geoffrey Philp has two poems, “Black River” and “Tallahassee 2005,” in OCHO #26 (The Travel Issue) edited by Emma Trelles. And with a hat tip to Rethabile Masilo for this news, which we lovingly pilfered:

“The Editorial Board of The Caribbean Writer has awarded Jamaica-born poet and short story writer, Geoffrey Philp, the Daily News Prize for his poem, ‘Erzulie’s Daughter.’ A talented writer in many genres, Mr. Philp has also won the Canute Brodhurst Prize for his short story, ‘Uncle Obadiah and the Alien.’ The prize winning poem is included in Philp’s upcoming collection of poems, Dub Wise, which will published in Spring 2010 by Peepal Tree Press.”

David Moolten has the poems “Pluto” and “Sixth Sense,” along with an introspective regarding their writing, in the November issue of Oranges & Sardines.

Ana Tun’s “Three Letters for Péter” (the English original and the Romanian translation) appears in Bolts of Silk (a journal edited by our own Juliet Wilson).

Richard H. Fay’s speculative cinquain, “The Sheerie,” has been published in the November 2009 issue of the webzine Aphelion.

Angie Werren has a poem in Issue 29 of Right Hand Pointing. It is one from her body series written for Read Write Poem’s Poetry Mini-Challenges prompts!

Read Write Poem founder Dana Guthrie Martin’s chapbook The Spare Room is now available from Blood Pudding Press. Pick up a copy from the publisher’s Etsy shop.

    April 24, 2010 | 12:05 pm

It’s the final week of the Read Write Poem NaPoWriMo Challenge! Just 7 days left. With that, a reminder that Read Write Poem will culminate with the anthology featuring work from those who complete the challenge. A post with details for submitting to the anthology will be published May 1. Be sure you remove any information from the site that you want preserved — such as group content and personal messages. Those elements of the site will be removed May 1 as well. The main site will remain up as an archive.
