important note regarding forums! please read.

All information shared in the forums is fed into the site’s main feed and picked up by search engines, even if the group is marked private or hidden. Wire posts in private and hidden groups are private.

Please keep this in mind when posting work, discussion items and other content. The software we are using is in beta, and we will advocate for better privacy integration in future releases.

We tried installing a plugin last night to give us more control over privacy settings for private and hidden group forums, but that plugin was a no-go. *frowns*

We just want to make sure everyone in the community is aware of the situation so nobody is surprised later on. We have added similar language to our Help and About pages as well, located in the site’s navigation bar.

Thanks, and poem on!

There is a contradiction in the intro to the 301 first saying that your work will not be potentially picked up by search engines, then that it will.

Not clear why 301’s have to join 201’s…

    Deb Scott replied:

Thanks, Songbird, we’ll fix the language. (They will be potentially picked up.)

Since we are asking people to workshop before they critique, and to workshop more than they critique, we thought people would need a bigger field of work to pick from. We also think cross-pollination is a great learning tool for people. Does that help?

Thank you for your close reading! And questions!

  • songbird, work posted on the wire won’t be picked up by search engines, but work in the forums is. Although I think Andre changed that. We’ll ask him and see what he says. Thanks for bringing this issue up.

The Read Write Poem NaPoWriMo Anthology is still in production. Selection, placement, layout and copyediting are taking longer than anticipated. Thank you for your patience. I hope to have the piece completed in July. For those who have emailed asking if they can be included, the May 7 deadline for submission of work stands. Those who met that deadline will be included. Please check the post on this site listing who I received submissions from by that date. If you submitted your work by the May 7 deadline in accordance with our guidelines and your name is not listed, send an email to info (at) readwritepoem (dot) org.

    April 24, 2010 | 12:05 pm

It’s the final week of the Read Write Poem NaPoWriMo Challenge! Just 7 days left. With that, a reminder that Read Write Poem will culminate with the anthology featuring work from those who complete the challenge. A post with details for submitting to the anthology will be published May 1. Be sure you remove any information from the site that you want preserved — such as group content and personal messages. Those elements of the site will be removed May 1 as well. The main site will remain up as an archive.
