A couple of poets are using Identi.ca (an open-source, much smaller and friendlier than Twitter, social networking site) to create a collaborative line-by-line poem. Follow the link to read it in process.
Dave Bonta and Patricia Anderson started working to ”the topic/title ‘in the news.’ Items may be either invented or lifted from actual news stories.”
One of the (many) features that’s great about Identi.ca, which Twitter doesn’t have (there are lots of cool things in this category), is the context ability that allows you to see a conversation laid out, kind of like nested comments on a blog. It makes picking up or following an interesting thread so easy. And it’s a natural for collaborative short-form work!
Get thee to Identi.ca! (For a more detailed expanation about why, check out Dave Bonta’s post, a must-read.)
