The world is full of opposites! Which ones did you work with this week? Even if you did the opposite of our prompt and wrote something else, drop your link in the comments section and share what you’ve written!
Please, link back here in your posts, either with a hyperlink to Read Write Poem or by using the badge in your post. Sidebar links are great but it helps our “internet health” when you link in every post you contribute to the project. And please add “Read Write Poem” in your tags, if you don’t mind.![]()
For the new folks: Please take a few moments to read the About pages, including our Copyrights page. If you have any questions about the project after reading through those pages, email us at info (at) readwritepoem (dot) org.

I was turned on to this exercise by the Velveteen Rabbi. Loved it! I’ve titled my poem “Bereshit,” which is the first word of the book of Genesis in Hebrew, basically meaning “in the beginning.”
You’ll find it here:

A response to having my 3 poems removed from this site.
Alas I fear
I have no blog
My poems
have been assigned
to the bog
Had no idea
they would disappear
from this site
And into the night
Never mind
this poet said
creativity is not dead
It’s time to go
my dear old Flo
without a blog
there is no show
A bunch of poems
I have not seen
A bunch of flowers
maybe you mean
Did not do the prompt, but do have a snapshot poem: Traveling to Arizona | snapshot poem
