I was going to wait until I’d finished reading Sage Cohen’s Writing the Life Poetic to post it’s publication as news, but this morning’s email had a WTLP newsletter with a terrific article by Dale Favier, who says:
“You’re not going to ‘be a poet.’ You’re going to indulge in poetry. Poetry is going to be your secret vice. You’re going to grow sleek and fat on poetry. You’re going to have online dalliances with other poets. You’re going to put their words in your mouth, without fretting for a moment about where else they might have been, and you’re going to pop your own words in their mouths, wantonly and unexpectedly.”
Writing the Life Poetic is a resource for all poets, at every stage of their adventure. (It may make you miss your bus stop, as I did last night, though, nose buried. It is a lovely companion to RWP!)
