read write word #6

by Jessica Fox-Wilson

We like the words, especially when they are jumbled up together in Wordle form. This Wordle is especially lovely, with words contributed by Read Write Poem participants Nicole and Naomi.

Participating in our Read Write Word prompts are super-easy. You can choose to link to your Wordle-inspired writings in the comments section of this post or you can link on Thursday’s “Get Your Poem On” post. You’ll probably get more readers if you wait until Thursday.

We are still looking for more lovely words for future Read Write Word prompts. Please feel free to contribute word lists to info (at) readwritepoem (dot) org.

I’m still learning the ropes here so…nudge me the right way! I wasn’t sure how to use the lovely Wordle–do I use all the words, can I use just a few–so I used just a few. And called it “eggs.”

I hope you like them over-easy! –Angie

  • Hi Angie,

You get to do whatever you want to with the words. (We don’t have many rules around here. They can be summed up easily: 1) write & read poetry 2) play nice with others.) You are doing just fine!

We will be posting a Get Your Poem On post Thursday, and if you are able to, what with holidays and whatnot, you should come back and repost your poem then, too. To make sure the most folks get to see your link.

We might all be holidazed though, so be sure to come back whenever you can.

Thanks for playing words with us!

The Read Write Poem NaPoWriMo Anthology is still in production. Selection, placement, layout and copyediting are taking longer than anticipated. Thank you for your patience. I hope to have the piece completed in July. For those who have emailed asking if they can be included, the May 7 deadline for submission of work stands. Those who met that deadline will be included. Please check the post on this site listing who I received submissions from by that date. If you submitted your work by the May 7 deadline in accordance with our guidelines and your name is not listed, send an email to info (at) readwritepoem (dot) org.

*I initially said “tomorrow,” but I meant to say “Friday.”

    April 24, 2010 | 12:05 pm

It’s the final week of the Read Write Poem NaPoWriMo Challenge! Just 7 days left. With that, a reminder that Read Write Poem will culminate with the anthology featuring work from those who complete the challenge. A post with details for submitting to the anthology will be published May 1. Be sure you remove any information from the site that you want preserved — such as group content and personal messages. Those elements of the site will be removed May 1 as well. The main site will remain up as an archive.
