Surely, Rob, you have a more creative and indepth poem in response to this visual prompt?
Of course, the instructions did say, “Write whatever you like …”
You’re not taken by my brevity…
Here’s one for fun Deb…
“I’ve lost my heart to you
I’ve also lost my head
What is more so
My torso
Is now truncated
I’m obviously more than infatuated
I’m leglessly in love”
(and my butt cheeks are hopelessly skewed)
Ha ha! Now *that’s* more like it.
(Truncated is the perfect word, BTW.)
ROFL.
Thanks, Rob. I definitely needed that laugh in the midst of all this stress (final exams to end the academic semester).
I was thinking of “truncated” too when I first saw this photo.
At any rate, I enjoyed your humorous poem.
Addendum: Rob, I hope you don’t mind the extra line?
“(and my butt cheeks are hopelessly skewed
as unrequited love makes one definitely screwed.)”
I’m reminded of the song that starts something along the lines of:
Venus de Milo was a beauty, and noted for her charms…
But you’re even cuter than Venus, and baby, you’ve got arms!
In hope of extirpating your memories
I severed the arms and legs
Which bowed to your whims and fancies
Now, the torso
Left with heart and brains
Refuses to leave the memoirs of days once pleasant
PS- Rob, This is inspired from your poem. A poor version though. Also not humorous
