back in business (and a belated read write prompt #8)
Published by Dana January 4th, 2008 in About Read Write Poem, Dana.
Great news to report. …deb of Stoney Moss has agreed to head up Read Write Poem. We’ll have more details soon, but I wanted to get the news out there to the community. Everyone welcome …deb and thank her for taking over the project.
Oh, and in case anyone is looking for a prompt (albeit a late one) for this week: how about resolutions. It seems fitting for the start of a new year and the start of new leadership on Read Write Poem.
You might want to write a list of things you resolve to do this year, then take one of the items from the list and write a poem around that item. Or you might think of over-the-top and downright zany resolutions you could make, and turn that into a list poem. (Remember, it’s a poem, so you don’t have to write resolutions you will keep or even ones that are logical or believable. You have poetic license, after all.)
We’ll be back on schedule for the next Get Your Poem On post, so check back this Monday and leave a link to your post as well as giving …deb a shout out.

Thanks, Cerwiden, for the prompt and the send-off into a new year.
I’ll say (a little) more later but look forward to seeing what poetry the new year brings us all.
Thanks …deb for taking over. I know it is not easy to run something like this. You can count on me to support you. I am very glad, it is not closing down. I will come up with something for this prompt. Better late than never.

thanks for keeping RWP alive! i’ll help any way i can.
Hey, that’s great! Thanks, …deb. I think there’s a real place for a site like this. I may not be the most sociable fellow in the world, but I do like a challenging prompt, i.e. a kick in the pants, from time to time. I also like the name of the site - the fact that *reading* is put first!
I am so excited to see all your voices here!
I love this site, too, which is why I decided I *had* to lend a hand. Here’s to poetry: reading and writing!
I’m so glad you’re continuing this! It’s well worth maintaining!
hooray! I am truly excited. Cerwiden thank you so much for starting up the site and Deb thanks for taking over. The random prompt generator gave me vertigo as a word which is how I felt when I first read the site was closing: emotional vertigo.
Oh here is my contribution. I know it is gross, just blame the random prompt generator.
stunned
I woke up feeling so happy and relieve that …deb has decided to run the joint. Thank you, …deb. You will be brilliant in this role.
Thanks for the prompt and happy new year! Here’s my
New Year’s Resolution Haiku.
And thanks again for continuing this, Deb.
This is good news to hear!
And here I was thinking, as I loaded the site, if no one had taken it on yet, I would volunteer. I’m not done with this project yet!
Deb, let me know if you need a hand.
I *love* and appreciate the enthusiasm…
…links to “resolution” poems - or anything you want to write about - actually get posted next Monday, when the “Get Your Poem On” post is up. But heck. It’s a party. Just come back Monday and repost then as well, Roberta and Mad Kane.
Ah, shucks. My basic goal is to not muck up what has already been started…and keep it it going…in whatever form it takes.
Thanks …deb, and best of luck.
And a belated thanks to Cerwiden for starting this in the first place. It takes courage to know your limits.
I knew there was a reason (other than stubbornness) that I didn’t take down the link from my page…
Yay!
Thanks to you both!
Welcome, Deb!
I’m so happy you are able to manage the site, deb! Now it can keep unfolding and evolving.
I’m looking forward to reading all the great poems, and geting to know all the poets involved here.
The only resolution I have for now is to come up with a cool sign-off catch phrase!
Hey, Deb, good on you! See you here…….
Thanks Deb for taking over, I had just decided to participate in 2008 when I saw it was gone….I did a submission via the random prompts I would like to share…my prompt was confessions! Hope you enjoy.
I’m so glad you are continuing…I just found the blog and was having fun with it.
